The Lordship of Jesus Christ and the centrality of His word. As a Calvary Chapel fellowship we follow and endorse the Calvary Distinctives. For a complete list of our beliefs please see Genesis through Revelation, but for the major doctrines click here.
What can I expect from CC Bville?
Our fellowship places great emphasis on teaching through the bible, prayer & praise, evangelism, and fellowship.
Teaching: We study through the bible book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. As a subject arises in scripture we study it. We do not over emphasize any particular subject, but place importance on scriptural subjects as often as they occur in the word. “Sanctify them by Your truth, Your word is truth.” – John 17:17
Prayer & Praise: As our means of communicating with the Lord, expressing our condition, and lifting up needs, we find that prayer & praise are a necessary aspect of our fellowship both corporately and individually. “What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with understanding.” – 1 Corinthians 14:15
Evangelism: As the days of grace draw to a close we find ourselves placing great emphasis on reaching those in need of Christ. In the tradition of Calvary Chapel we reach out to the counter cultures of our society. “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” – Revelation 22:17
Fellowship: Breaking bread and spending time together is a strong desire of ours. Jesus said “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Our time spent together, whether in study, prayer, or breaking bread together is another opportunity to strengthen our love for each other as the bride of Christ.
Is Calvary Chapel a denomination?
The short answer is no. There are numerous Calvary Chapels around the world, but each one is autonomous. We fellowship as a Calvary Chapel because of common ministry goals and common ministry styles. Calvary Chapel does not have central governance, each church is governed locally by Pastors and Elders.
